You run a wonderful hotel. One of the first things we talk about when people ask about our honeymoon is how wonderful your hotel was. Even some people who have been to PDC before think it sounds like a pretty nice place. We are convinced now that when we travel we don't always have to stay at a big all inclusive. We had a fabulous stay at your hotel. The rooms were incredibly clean, comfortable and perfect for our family! The room was always made up when we returned from our day of travels and it was so nice to come back to such a clean room. The kids loved the jacuzzi tub and we would stay with you again in a heartbeat! Your front desk staff and cleaning crew were wonderful. They were friendly and very helpful if we needed anything. The only small and not too important complaint that we had was that the breakfast waiters were a bit grumpy and not overly excited to wait on us. They were by no means offensive, but everyone else was so friendly that we would have expected the same from them. It didn't dampen our stay one bit and we would definately recommend your hotel to anyone vacationing in Playa. The location is ideal and I think you have the very nicest and cleanest beach in all of Playa. Please post all of my raves about your hotel on your website because we did indeed have a fabulous experience staying with you! Our 7 year old said, 'this is paradise!' Steve, I don’t want to take much of your time because I know how busy you must be insuring happiness to your customers but I want to say how much I enjoyed my stay at your slice of paradise. I was with Lisa Jorgenson and her mother this last week, I appreciate your being accommodating to our every whim. I will recommend you to all that I speak to about my trip and that your get away is the place to stay. My reasoning for writing this is that I would appreciate if you could thank Maurice for being a friend and a friend indeed. He showed me his way, he told me his way and introduced me to things I’ll never forget! I cannot say enough about how good his heart is, please tell him for me that I apologize for not being able to shake his hand and give him a bear hug before I left because our transfer was there but that I will be back in a year and can’t wait to hang with him again. In his eyes I’ve seen a good soul. Many thanks for your hospitality.

Mandi and I wanted to thank you and your staff VERY much for all of the hospitality and kindness that everyone showed us on our honeymoon. I have traveled all over the US. I have driven through Canada twice (from Texas to Alaska), and now have been to Mexico twice. Mandi and I have both been in the service industry for a combined period of over 15 years. All of these experiences, and we still have never seen service like this. Everyone on your payroll deserves a raise! They treated us like family. There were way to many positives about our trip to list! We will be moving back to Texas in a year, and you can bet that you will see us more after that! Steve.... Wanted to tell you that I/we had a wonderful time again in Playa, and at the Playa Maya. My friend has never been to Mexico and loved it... and your hotel and staff were excellent as usual. The added things like beach towels, chair cushions, breakfasts were all very much appreciated this year. Good additions to your already great atmosphere. The recommendation given to us by our niece to stay at your hotel was well deserved! The transportation via Dita to and from the airport and hotel was to say the least comparable to a London taxi driver with a more hospitable atmosphere.

We enjoyed the ambience of your hotel.


The staff: ready to accomodate any requested needs and provided the appropiate map/person to further our exploration with information. When staff realized that I had to a degree a limitation of mobility, I was not treated as a 'different' person, just more politely.


Sr. Charlie: I received a through massage on my left knee from him. Clarita provided me with the basic oil massage the day before. These are two gifted people. Our niece has worked in a chiropractic office for 3 yrs. Needless to say, after a quick overview she phrased it 'had her spine on one line' and she is scheduleded to have a through massage.
You may consider having 'Do Not Disturb' signs for folks who may get in after 10 p.m. and be on a different time zone.

All of our best wishes and we are both happy to have been introduced to your mother, 2 children, and your wife. We especially appreciate the time that you took to meet†& greet guests after what may have been a hectic time for you and your wife upon returning from a visit to family.

We liked your boutique hotel -- the room with the beautiful seaview, the attitude of your staff, and particularly the 'you're someone special' service. Thank you for making our Christmas a special treat --including a gift from Santa hanging on our doorknob. I can't imagine how he knew where to look for us. :-) We certainly will recommend you to our friends -- especially the one getting married in Playa del Carmen in March whose friends are flying in to celebrate the event. Just want to tell you once again what a wonderful time we had this past week. Although I believe you know how much fun we had! We loved your hotel and want you to know how helpful and friendly everyone was. We got to know a couple a little better than others....

We had a fantastic time thanks and our only regret was that it wasn't longer! We were so pleased with the accommodations. The hotel was perfect -- the location fantastic (we loved having breakfast on the beach every day!) The staff were all very helpful and friendly and we were impressed with how clean the hotel was kept (they cleaned the outside area every day and the rooms were kept spotless). We stayed in 3 different rooms; Junior Suite (great to be right next to the beach), Jacuzzi room (nice private garden) and the Deluxe Balcony room (our favourite because of the views of the ocean). The only slight negative we had was that the Jacuzzi room was a bit dark. Absolutely perfect in every way really; we are already saying that we would definitely go back.

Hola, Steve. I have to say this was by far the best trip we had to Playa. All your staff were great. Please give a big thank you to Margarita, she was so helpful with our transfers that showed up late, but unfortunately we still made it to the airport. She's super! Also a big HI and thanks to all the guys on the beach and restaurant, expecially Antonio, he's a real sweetheart. You definitely have a top notch crew. Everything was great.

I have already booked accommodations elsewhere but it's good to know that the Playa Maya management gets back to their customers in a timely and straightforward manner. I will definitely consider a stay at your hotel on another visit.

I'm sure you get many compliments on your staff here at Playa Maya. I felt the need to express my thoughts and add to the applause for your staff. Every single person that works for you was more than pleasant, always smiling and made sure we were comfortable. Paulino gets my vote for being 100%! Attitude shines through and his was always wonderful.

My one and only complaint was that the beach chairs had no pads. One suggestion is to have a place closer to the reception desk to wash sand off of feet. Thank you for making all transactions run smoothly.

The Playa Maya is in a fantastic location and as far I am concerned, it is the premier beach hotel in PdC. Best location, best management... If you are looking for the best beach hotel this is the one I recommend.

Hands down the Playa Maya is a great air conditioned hotel right on the beach. With the most friendly people you could meet. Also has a small pool and restaurant with great food and drinks served on the beach. It is within walking distance of everything, 5th ave is only one block away. We stayed there last Dec. and it is the ONLY place we will stay at again. We do not care for AI. Way too many super places to eat and explore. Steve is the manager and will do everything to make your stay wonderful. And the rest of the staff were extremely helpful and alot of fun. (complete online forum post)

A very cool boutique hotel on the beach. If you look at their website it's very representative of what it's like... This was the first time in Mexico I've experienced quiet at night. No hall noise, dogs barking, roosters crowing, trucks belching, people screaming... it was almost too quiet... Location is great, price is pretty good, staff is good, massages are great. We stayed at the Playa Maya over Christmas. I think it is a perfect introduction to the area. Right on the beach in the middle of everything, but not overwhelming or noisy in the least. It is convenient to virtually everything. You have to enter the hotel from the beach. How cool is that?...(more)

I have such a hard time NOT staying at your hotel. I talked to our friends, showed them your website, and it's definitely where we want to stay again. How do you do that? I sure appreciate your attention to detail. Your hotel is great, but it's your customer service that keeps me coming back.
